Area ManagerWe are searching for an experienced Area Manager at our MEDLOG GENEVA - Geneva facility.  Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Medlog S.A. is the inland logistics arm of MSC Group. The company operates worldwide and provides door-to-door transport and logistics services, using a network of trucks, trains, barges, depots, terminals, and warehouses.JOB PURPOSEFollowing its fast expansion, Medlog S.A is looking for an Area Supervisor, who will be responsible for overseeing the activities of a specific region.The position will be located in Geneva (Switzerland) and will report to the Medlog SA Executive Director.MAIN RESPONSABILITIESDevelop, implement, and
maintain/adjust overall strategy for the assigned area as well as for each
entity within the area in collaboration with MEDLOG management team and local
MEDLOG teams.Provide direction to MEDLOG
entities and oversee performance, hereunder commercial performance, operational
performance, financial performance, and business development.Ensure that clearly defined SOP are in place for key activities and
that a transparent procurement process is in place in line with MSC Group
Procurement Guidelines.Ensure that each entity has the HR management structure which is optimal
for the business activities while also considering the agreed strategy. Ensure that MEDOG Group Policies
for employees are being followed.Coach the MEDLOG management team where required and ensure all entities
are supported where and when required, i.e., special skills, legal support, network
business, marketing, MSC and MEDLOG liaisons, etc.Support with reporting from countries to MEDLOG senior management
and MSC Group Management such as board files.Oversee risk management and ensure
that risk register is updated regularly.Ensure financial controls are in
place in accordance with MEDLOG global guidelines. Ensure that company is compliant with local and global regulations as
well as MSC compliance guidelines.Update direct MEDLOG senior management regularly of key performance and
key developments for MEDLOG entities as well as relevant events within the area
of responsibility.Required Qualifications:The ideal
candidate will meet the following criteria:Bachelor’s degree in logistics or
closely related field.Minimum 10 years of shipping, intermodal
or forwarding experience.Minimum 5 years management
experience.Independent, must be self-motivated
and comfortable in a highly visible role.Excellent oral and written
communicative skills in English.Proven ability to negotiate
contracts, mediate disputes and diplomatically resolve conflict.Ability to work as part of a team.Ability to prioritize, multi-task
and meet deadlines.A can-do attitude and ability to
