About the RoleDid you know that Swiss Re has closed some of the largest reinsurance transactions worldwide, both risk and capital motivated?In Business Development (BD) we identify client needs and generate reinsurance leads, covering both under Life & Health and Property & Casualty. These leads can be caused by a variety of topics, ranging from market dynamics to regulatory changes.Together with our clients we engage on risk & capital and develop propositions that lead to reinsurance transactions. From Zurich and London we serve our globally acting clients and key markets in Europe, Middle East and Africa. This is your chance to initiate an exciting career step and to start as Business Development Analyst in Zurich.Are you interested to take this step?The key tasks and responsibilities include:Analyze Solvency and financial disclosure and connect findings to anticipate client needs and build hypothesisBe a key partner for transactions in cross functional teams, driving related client engagement and marketing activities for key client accounts and marketsTrack changes in regulation, financial markets, capital markets and insurance environment and explore our clients resulting strategic challengesDevelop theme-based propositions and tailored origination strategies. Drive related client engagement on related initiatives and uncover needs and leads through client discussionsCollaborate with senior colleagues on concrete business opportunities and market initiativesQuantify client benefits through capital simulations and projections to demonstrate the value of reinsurance transactions to our clientsIn joining Business Development, you will gain a detailed knowledge of reinsurance and Swiss Re from a global perspective and across all lines of business. You will have the ability to develop further through the close collaboration with client managers, Treasury, Asset Management, Structured Solutions and Underwriting.About the TeamIn BD, we collaborate globally with locations in Asia, America and Europe, and we are 100% client oriented. We comprise around 30 professionals with different cultural and educational backgrounds and have a strong commercial focus. In Europe, we are impacting clients and markets with our work out of Zurich and London. You will be reporting to the Head of Business Development EMEA.About YouYou have gained 2-5 years of relevant experience in L&H re/insurance, ideally you have worked in insurance transaction advisory, actuarial advisory or regulatory environment in the French or Benelux marketsYou have a strong commercial sense and are keen to engage clients through consultative sales in complex actuarial and corporate finance topicsYou are hungry to generate new business and have the drive to build impactYou are keen to learn about Swiss Re transactions and structured solutions propositionYou command excellent oral and written French and English skills; additional European language skills advantageousYou have successfully completed a university degree, preferably in Actuarial Science, or similar quantitative focus or equivalent work experienceYou have already shown your ability to work independently and feel comfortable in a fast paced environmentYou are a team-player with an intercultural mindset, and contribute actively to the overall team spiritWe provide feedback to all candidates via email.
