Job DescriptionCoordinate laboratory activities and manage
availability and utilization of equipment.Establish planning and
supervise resources availability to cover the proper execution of R&D
projects and technical support of the company.Assess and develop novel
laboratory characterization techniques based on the new challenges
faced by CEMEX.Ensure application of the safety measures related to
laboratory management.Relevant information:*Relocation bonus can be
provided. *For applicants outside of European Union or Switzerland,
the employer (Cemex) would have to go through the process of
requesting the work permit, that takes in average six months. Main
ResponsibilitiesPlan the laboratory activities and resources based on
the current R&D project portfolio, technical support from the
operation and other operational activities. Establish and adapt the
working plan of laboratory team members and equipment based on the
priorities established by the current request and top
management.Establish a network with key Research centers,
Universities, and institutes to identify new research opportunities
and novel technological developments.Conduct training sessions for new
employes, laboratory technicians and interns to allow them to work in
the laboratory according to H&S regulations and CEMEX
procedures.Implement and develop state-of-the-art methods and
laboratory techniques required for the laboratory studies and
evaluations. Plan and execute benchmarks of available products on the
market to monitor competition and new technologies.Supervise and
participate in internal and external committees to ensure and
determine the evolution of norms and standards in the building
materials business.Assure the availability and optimal operation of
the lab equipment.Position ChallengesWorking in a multidisciplinary
environment, keeping up and switch between different tasks and
projects, communicate with other areasQualificationsBachelor’s Degree
in science / Engineering; preferably in chemistry or
building/constructionMaster’s Degree preferred in chemistry100%
English proficient. Spanish is a bonus.7+ years of experience in
similar position, etc.5+ years of experience in Project Leadership and
Technical Support; preferably experience in management
position.Internal/External RelationsINTERNALRegional Laboratories
coordinators in CEMEX operations, Manager of other Product Development
