In our R&D group, we develop hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people and hearing care professionals in the form of hearing instruments, accessories, web services, mobile applications and PC software.In a team of electrical and software engineers, you will contribute to the design, development and the maintenance of software infrastructure and firmware. The development is focused on bare metal abstraction as well as middle layer and infrastructure frameworks to manage a multi-processor embedded hardware system dedicated to signal- and neural-network processing.Your work will build the foundation for all Sonova hearing instrument product application development conducted by Sonova teams worldwide. From the concept to the deployment phase, you will be engaged in contributing to highly flexible and reliable software and firmware solutions.Your tasksDevelop the foundation software layers and frameworks (C/C++) of a heterogeneous multi-processor embedded hardware systemOptimize performance, energy consumption and latency throughout the design of the embedded software systemCollaborate closely with application layer and development environment software teamsParticipate in agile software development process, code reviews and interdisciplinary collaborationMaintain the developed solutions and support the users thereofReview hardware design documentation, support hardware verification activitiesYour profileUniversity degree (MSc/BSc) or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science or related technical field4+ years of experience in the development, deployment, and maintenance of embedded software systemsExperience or previous exposure to close-to-metal software development, proficiency in C/C++, Python as a plusFoundational knowledge in Signal- and Neural Network ProcessingStrong analytical, problem-solving skills, and service orientationFluent in English; German is a plusOur offerWe can offer you a new challenge, with interesting tasks and much more – including an open corporate culture, flat hierarchies, support for further training and development, opportunities to take on responsibility, an excellent range of foods, sports and cultural facilities, attractive employment conditions, and flexible working time models in various roles.
