With your proven knowledge on Generator rotor designs, you are responsible for providing high quality on-site engineering support to Birr factory. You regularly visit the factory throughout the repair or production lifecycle to ensure quality and ability for reacting quickly to emerging issues. Moreover, you represent SP Generator Engineering towards our customers during their visits at Birr factory. customers around the globe.Job DescriptionSuccess in this role looks like:Establish yourself as a Senior Generator Services Engineer by running successful Generator outage & repairs engineering for our customers. Support developing opportunities, assure compliance with standard procedures and deliver to S-Q-D-C (Safety-Quality-Delivery-Cost).You will be an indispensable Services Engineer with excellent coordination, management, and organizational skills and continuous improvement of necessary processes and standard work.Who You Are: You are someone who brings:Leadership with uncompromising standards for integrity, compliance, and safety.Strong oral and written communication skills.Collaborative, inclusive, supportive, and empowering management behaviors.Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, including multi-location and multi-cultural.Pragmatic outlook.Problem solving skills.Good commercial awareness.Ability to interface effectively with all levels of the organization and with external customers/suppliers.You have experience with Lean and propose ideas for continuous improvement in the engineering processes.Your Role:Provide primary support through the ITO/ITR tendering phases for outages and repairs as the technical lead for the bid, including scope description, BOM, RFQ review, technical clarifications, technical risk identification, TRS.Knowledge and experience with Generator Rotor repairsResponsibility for on-site engineering support to Birr factory and other GE Service Shops (Bucharest, Wroclaw) and customer sites.Head Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)/8D investigationsHead teams of engineers in resolving problems with tight time constraints. Make timely decisions autonomously when the situation dictates.Provide technology leadership for a team of engineers for all product design aspects of the assigned technology area. Mentor and develop less experienced personnel.Lead Engineering team as PEM on complex upgrade projects in region and globally when required.Ability to travel to GE Service shops and customer sites in EMENAT region for inspection support and customer meetings for supporting planning and execution of outages and repairs.Author customer communicationsSupport and coordinate with interfacing organizations such as design engineering, Core Services engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, field engineering, projects, etc.Communicate progress to all levels of the organizationAuthor or contribute to the development of inspection & test plans / procedures / work instructions / standards and design practices associated with this technology area. Highlight lessons learned and makes repair practices / design standards changes or other appropriate changes in practices to prevent re-occurrenceTechnical customer face during kick-off, fact finding, repairs, handoverBasic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent learning through experience.Experience of generator maintenance processes, including overhauls and refurbishment, rewinding activities, insulation technologies and associated measurements.Knowledge and experience of synchronous generator design and constructionGerman language skills.Desired Qualifications:Strong process discipline, metric focused and excellent communication and presentation capabilityHigh-energy team player with exceptional influence and interpersonal skillsHas contributed to the solving of technical challenges e.g. in site execution or workshop processesStrong Customer Service Mindset with focus on Quality, Cost, On-time, and On-budget PerformanceKnowledge in measurement tools and equipmentWillingness to travel to key customer sites for supporting planning and execution of outages and repairs.Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)PLM System e.g. RPDM (VPDM)GE is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
