DescriptionThe Head of Media & Public Relations will develop and drive
the SGS Group’s Public Relations strategy, with the aim to boost SGS’s
reputation in the public eye, gain earned media coverage, and support
business objectives. You also will work with global and local
communications teams to develop business and local Public Relations
strategies.The Head of Media & Public Relations is a key member of the
global communications team, reporting into the Group Vice-President of
Investor Relations, Communications and Sustainability. This role
coordinates with investor relations, sustainability, global
communications, marketing, copy writing, digital, brand, business and
operations teams.Specific responsibilities:Develop and implement the
SGS corporate public relations strategy including spokesperson
strategyBuild relations with relevant influential media in Switzerland
and in key international markets, juggling a combination of proactive
and reactive communications that protect and enhance our
reputationProduce and write corporate press releases and interact with
other internal departments accordinglyAbility to articulate impactful
written and verbal reactions and representations on behalf of the
CompanyWork with stakeholders to support business or local Public
Relations strategiesOversee the Group crisis management process and
support with crisis communications in conjunction with crisis
management teamIn conjunction with the Digital Analytics team,
regularly monitor and report on SGS’s reputation in the mediaManage
corporate Public Relations interactions in key markets, sharing
campaign learnings and experience with stakeholders where
relevantQualificationsBachelor’s degree in marketing, communications,
or related field5-10+ years working in PR and mediaExcellent network
of Swiss and international media contactsEnglish, French and German
languages requiredExperience working in an international environment
and understanding of complex organizationsWe are looking for a dynamic
and influential person who enjoys coming up with new and innovative
ideas and implementing them. You should be a quick learner, with
natural curiosity, able to understand the complexities of different
industries and target audiences and to think strategically. Strong
writing skills with an ability to combine synthetic, analytical and
strategic messaging are key. You should also have excellent
interpersonal skills with a desire to work with flexibility and
autonomy.Additional InformationThis position can be based in
Switzerland, UK, France, Spain or Germany. Business travels might
