What impact you'll makeThe Steam Turbine Mechanical Structures Design Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing a broad range of ST Structural components ranging from high pressure/temperature valves, shells, & casings to large low temperature fabrications. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery safety (overspeed) and detailed mechanical component design expertise. #GEVernova #FutureOfEnergy #GEProudJob DescriptionWhat you'll doOwn Steam Turbine Structures component design in execution of New Product Introduction (NPI), Order-to-Remit, and activities for new units and aftermarket services.Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points.Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.Lead and execute appropriateengineering analysis to ensure robust designs that meet all customer requirements.Follow rigorous NPI Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thrufield validation for all bucket/blade component designs across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations.Design for EHS/Safety and demonstrate safety skillsets in support of manufacturing and field activities, i.e. lifting and transportation.Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, lifing methods related to fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.Finite Element Analysis and / or Computational Fluid Dynamics capability.What you'll bring(Basic Qualifications)This role requires some experience in Engineering/Technology & Mechanical Components.Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar degree from an accredited university or college.What will make you stand outStrong oral and written communication skills. Shells/Casings, and LP Hoods, design process & procedures.Demonstrated clear thinker, with ability to manage conflict and derive solutions to complicated problems.Demonstrated Project leadership skills with the mindset to handle several competing tasks.Familiarity with the full manufacturing process including: castings, fabrications, machining, and factory assembly/ testing practices, specifically as applied to power generation equipment.Second Language preferred, such as German, French, Spanish, or Polish.Additional Notes: Proficiency in English.Legal right to work.
