Responsibilities & Qualifications



Your responsibilities:The purpose of this job is to operate, maintain and further develop the crash tower and the joining capabilities, establish the associated methods to describe the material behavior and increase Novelis’ expertise in crash behavior. This includes the following responsibilities: Be the main contact person for all crash related tests, with the management of all partners across Novelis worldwide: the crash tower at Sierre site is unique to Novelis.Development of new methodologies, linked to the new customer requirements.Enhance crash test and mechanical testing expertise for automotive product development and qualification.Guarantee our crash testing, joining and related mechanical testing capabilities matches our needs for new product development and customer support.Equipment maintenance and reliability management of the methodsHow to convince us:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or material science or metallurgy.Ideally 2-3 years professional experience with sheet metal products / rolled products for the automotive market, preferably aluminum.Orientation to results and organizational and planning competences.Team spirit and excellent skills in a multicultural teamworkFast learning, innovative spirit and the ability to deal with ambiguity.Good knowledge of EHS, Quality, IP and regulatory requirementsFluent French and English, German is an advantage.




Location Profile



Novelis’ Sierre is located in the Valais of Switzerland employing around 500 people. It mainly focuses on production of aluminium sheet for the automotive market covering the entire process from casting to finishing. The plant also hosts a world-leading Research & Innovation Center specialized in development of new automotive sheet alloys surface treatment and joining technologies. Sierre is nicknamed the “City of the Sun” with an average of 300 days of sunshine in proximity to skiing resorts and famous for its cheese and wine. The Sierre plant supports its community through direct sponsorship of many annual events promoting education sports and culture.
