Together, we accelerate the discovery, development and delivery of solutions that safeguard and improve human health.We currently offer the position as Research Scientist (m/f/d) in our office in Heerbrugg, Switzerland.  You will be part of the R&D department and will report to Advanced Technology Manager.The position will support the advanced technology group (ATG) in innovation and research.He/she will be a member of the ATG and participate in and support the innovation and research activities of the team. The work topics will be focused on innovative solutions for surgical and ophthalmic imaging systems. Work  activities  include  the  evaluation of  new  technologies,  construction  of  new  research  setups  and devices, execution of experiments and tests, and collection of preclinical and clinical data in collaboration with external partners.The technical focus will be on imaging spectroscopy, optical imaging, in vivo tissue imaging, ergonomics, smart control, and user experience. He/She will work very closely with the rest of ATG team and also have cross-functional relationships with various departments within the company (Advanced Technology, R&D, Business Management) and with external partners.Your responsibilitiesUnderstand and analyze the problemExplore potential solutions: propose several solutions based on knowledge and literatureImplement chosen solution: build setup/algorithmEvaluate chosen solution: document results of testsPresent solution: internal and external presentationDocument, protect and publish results: documentation according to company processes, patent filing, and scientific publicationsYour qualificationsEducation/ Studies :Graduate Degree in physics, engineering, or relevant fieldPh.D. in medical physics, biomedical or relevant fieldProfessional experience:Experience in conducting researchExperience in any of the following fields: optical imaging (cameras), medical or biomedical imaging, multi-/hyper-spectral imagingLanguages: EnglishTravel (required estimated % of the time): 20 %Are you interested to discover new opportunities in an innovative, team-oriented environment?
