Senior Product Development Engineer - Ceramic Implant (f/m/d)

Job Description Are you searching for a position as Senior Product Development Engineer (m/f/d) to work in an interdisciplinary, highly dynamic, and motivated team? Are you motivated to enable dental professionals to positively impact the lives of their customers and patients? We offer this pivotal position within our team to strengthen the future of the innovative Straumann Dental Implant Systems (SDIS) Portfolio and the Straumann Group. Responsibilities Overall technical lead on demanding, cross-functional development projects under consideration of the design control process Evaluation of technical solutions and performance of feasibility studies Translation of user needs and standards into design Coordination of verification and validation (V&V) activities Coordination of design transfer activities Evaluation of business opportunities that come along with design modifications Technical Lead in root cause investigations Ensure Design History File (DHF) documentation according to GDP Provide expertise as Subject Matter Expert in audits Profile: Education (Formal or equivalent)Degree in mechanical engineering, bioengineering, or a related field of study Professional Experience7+ years’ experience in a related area as the development of a medical device or other highly regulated products Experience in dental implant development is a strong plus Sound expertise in product development and manufacturing Sound knowledge of applicable standards and regulations (MDR, FDA, ISO, ASTM) Sound knowledge of the design control process Familiar with operating in a complex and changing matrixed environment Proficiency in specific development tools (e.g., statistical analysis) Understanding of mechanical test methods (etc. fatigue testing) and FMEA Knowledge of medical device manufacturing processes (e.g., ceramic and/or metal injection molding) is a plus Personal AttributesYou are a motivated self-starter with high energy level You are an inspiring team player with pragmatic hands-on approach You are a winning personality with excellent communication skills and the ability to establish effective working relationship both internally and externally You have a life-long learner attitude with broad interests in medical device technologies  You are customer focused and digitally savvy You are an entrepreneurial thinker and take calculated risks You actively cultivate a network of productive relationships in an international multi-brand environment You see the opportunities in a changing environment  You are an experienced mentor and coach to colleagues You are fluent in English, additional languages are a plus  All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.Employment Type: Full Time Alternative Locations: Switzerland : Basel Travel Percentage: 0 - 10% Requisition ID: 9843Job SummaryJob number: 9843Date posted : 2023-06-29Profession: Research & DevelopmentEmployment type: Full Time
