**The Position**
In a global, cross-functional environment, the System Development (SD) department is responsible for workflow optimization and successfully integrating hardware, software, consumables, and reagents to perform the system verification of diagnostics instruments.
As a Development Engineer, you will work as a part of a cross-functional team, working on Nucleic Acid Purification, PCR and Sequencing, on developing complex diagnostics systems. You will perform hands-on experiments, Hardware (HW) and Software (SW) testing, including evaluation of system performance, error handling, and reliability improvements.

In this position, you will be responsible for the following areas:
+ Plan and execute the work packages within the area of responsibility, including reporting and escalating issues to management.
+ Subject matter expert for an assigned area of responsibility. Provide guidance and support to team members.
+ Generate required documentation/procedures/technical reports.
+ Prepare and deliver presentations of project results to team and management.
+ Experimental design and execution of the experiments in the biosafety levels S1 and S2 laboratory.
+ Creation of Test Cases based on Product Requirements. Execution of Test Cases, analysis of the results, and creation of the respective regulatory documents. Issue tracking and verification of bug fixes/Anomalies.
+ Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems. Document and maintain software functionality.
+ Coordinate efforts with other functional areas to accomplish tasks: Hardware, Software-, Consumables-and Assay-Development.

**Who You Are**
+ You have a university degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Marketing, or a related business field.
+ You bring experience in the management of Immunoassay products in the IVD industry and a Scientific, Technical or Product Management background, with 5+ years of experience in related fields.
+ You have IVD Product Management Expertise: A proven track record with 5+ years in global product management on the technical or commercial side, or a related commercial role within the In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD) industry is essential.
+ You possess strong Technical & Clinical Acumen (Deep technical experience in the development and commercialization of Immunoassays. Specific expertise in the Thyroid disease state is strongly preferred) and Business & Financial Acumen: Strong command of business and financial principles, with the ability to develop compelling business cases and manage a product P&L with an enterprise-wide perspective.

**The Position**
The **Manufacturing Science & Technology (MSAT) team, part of Sensor & Cartridge (S&C) Operations** , is dedicated to supporting the manufacturing and quality control of **Roche Blood Gas and Electrolyte (BG&E) Sensors and Reagents** **.** These systems are a critical part of first-frontier diagnostics, delivering fast, reliable results in patient-critical settings like the intensive care unit, emergency room, and operating room. We are seeking a highly motivated intern to join our team in Rotkreuz, Switzerland. In this role, you will be a key contributor to our Process Improvement initiatives within BG&E operations. Your work will involve analyzing production processes to identify opportunities for optimization, as well as evaluating existing improvement ideas and helping to drive their further development.
As an MSAT intern, you will gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry by contributing to several critical process management tasks. Your work will directly impact our ability to produce life-saving diagnostic systems.
**The Opportunity**
Your responsibilities will include:
+ **Document Management** : Creating and managing GxP-compliant documents, such as manufacturing and QC process documentation and work instructions, with a focus on integrating sustainability into documentation practices.
+ **Risk Analysis:** Supporting process risk analyses (pFMEA) by preparing inputs, documenting outcomes, and assisting the team in identifying risks.
+ **Change Management:** Supporting change management processes and ensuring all changes are documented, reviewed, and implemented according to regulatory and audit requirements.
+ **Knowledge Documentation:** Ensuring project knowledge is well-documented in Wiki articles for easy access and retention.
+ **Process Improvement** : Within the PI team, your responsibilities will include analyzing production processes and associated data from various angles, such as manufacturing costs, yield experiments, or QC analytics. You will then report your findings and conclusions based on this analysis. You will also contribute to the development of new and existing ideas for process improvements, helping to shape them according to Lean Manufacturing principles and to implement them according to GxP.
**Who You Are**
+ You are an ideal candidate if you are a current Bachelor or Master student or you have graduated within 12 months prior to the start date in **life sciences, natural sciences, chemistry, process engineering, biotechnology, applied informatics, or a related field**

Your responsibilities include:
+ Lead and engage with the global health network to co-create and shape the LMIC Innovative Access Program for Roche Diagnostics inducing tangible positive business impact and exploring a disease area led approach based on a tailored and appropriate product mix
+ Catalyze scalable solutions by connecting internal and external stakeholders to drive tangible impact on people and patients and deliver commercial growth across the regions to enable a truly global footprint and drive from piloting to true scale
+ Build trusted partnerships with national/ multinational/ global key players and stakeholders complementary to our policy efforts and steer the strategic direction of donation programs, their scope, impact and design, such as Changing Diabetes in Children (CDiC) and lead their execution. Align and support our country organizations in implementing these programs, specifically CDiC in collaboration with our external partners
+ Identify commercial access opportunities addressing the national public and government sector as well as privately funded care
+ Facilitate business planning on the impact of the Innovative Access Program and commit to turning it into reality
+ Identify external stakeholders and strategic partnership opportunities with NGOs
+ Drive alternative funding strategy for emerging countries and LMICs.
+ Develop an internal and external communication plan and support external reporting (e.g. Roche Sustainability Report, Roche Annual Report, Roche Board of Directors)
+ Build bridges with Roche Pharma on LMIC strategy and implementation when appropriate
+ May require travel of up to 30%
**Who you are**
+ Education: Master's degree or equivalent with subject matter expertise in economics, science, public health etc. Advanced degree a plus
+ 10+ years professional experience in the diagnostics or pharmaceutical industry, especially in commercial or access in country and above-country roles combined with strategic thinking and strong business acumen
+ Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver in a matrixed cross-functional environment
+ Regional experience in one or more of the following regions: Africa & Middle East (AfME), South and South East Asia, Latin America is required
+ Fluent in written and verbal English and excellent communication skills, relationship building, networking and influencing skills.
