We are looking for a **curious, collaborative, and impact-driven Data Science Intern** to join our **Advanced Analytics team** at EPD's global headquarters in Basel. **What You'll Work On**
+ Explore ways to reduce latency in LLMOps pipelines using techniques like model distillation, caching strategies, and prompt engineering.
+ Research and propose frameworks for automating repetitive tasks using multi-agent collaboration.
+ Collaborate with senior data scientists to understand business challenges across operations, finance, and supply chain.
+ Conduct data exploration, cleaning, and visualization to uncover insights.
+ Support model development workflows including feature engineering and validation.
+ Document findings to promote knowledge sharing and reproducibility.
+ Stay curious and continuously learn about emerging technologies in AI and data science.
**What We're Looking For**
+ Currently pursuing a Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., applied mathematics, computer science, engineering, statistics).
+ Experience with full-cycle data science projects and applying methods to real-world problems.
+ Familiarity with tools like LangChain, Hugging Face, and vector databases.
+ Programming skills in Python or R; knowledge of object-oriented languages is a plus.
+ Understanding of software engineering principles and testing frameworks.
+ Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS/SageMaker is a bonus.
+ Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
+ Fluency in English; other languages are a plus.

Als Teammitglied Gruppe Elektrohydraulisch Systeme legen Sie als Maschinen- oder Elektroingenieur/in Ihren Fokus auf Data Science und Programmierung. Ihr Wissen und Verständnis für Maschinen- und Systemtechnik bildet die Grundlage für die Anwendung von state-of-the-art Datenanalyseverfahren. Dabei loten Sie – teils auch spielerisch – die sich bietenden Möglichkeiten aus. Des Weiteren entwickeln Sie bestehende Auslegungsprogramme weiter oder entwerfen neue für neue Anwendungen.
Ihre Aufgaben: Betreuung und Weiterentwicklung der hauseigenen Konfigurationssoftware für Aufzüge, mit Fokus auf der Auslegung und Berechnung
Weiterentwicklung der Visualisierungs- und Analyseportale für Felddaten sowie für Messdaten aus der Funktions- und Produktionskontrolle
Aufbereitung der Grundlagen für Kundennutzen durch die Datenauswertung von digitalisierten Produkten und Entwicklung/Erweiterung des Produktpotenzials
Vernetzung mit Stammdaten in ERP und PLM-Systemen
Ihre Qualifikation: Studium als Maschinen- oder Elektrotechnikingenieur oder verwandt mit Abschluss Bachelor oder Master
Erfahrung und Freude an Maschinendatenanalyse
Kenntnisse in der objektorientierten Programmierung mit Python
Kenntnisse in MySQL und Datenbankanwendungen
Gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse
