1. Objective of the assignment
The Program Performance and Budget Service (PPBS) is responsible for facilitating the planning and budgeting, implementation and monitoring, and assessment of the performance of WIPO's programs in accordance with WIPO's Results-Based Management (RBM) framework and the Financial Regulations and Rules.
The consultant will support PPBS in delivering financial and budget reporting as well as operational tasks - particularly in connection with the 2026 work planning exercise and the preparation of the 2024/25 WIPO Performance Report.
2. Deliverables/services
(a) Prepare and analyze financial data for planning and reporting purposes, including the WIPO Performance Report, the Annual Financial Statements, and other reports as required; perform extraction from various ERP systems, transformation, and validation of data sets to ensure accuracy and completeness; and maintain documentation of financial planning and reporting processes for future reference and auditing purposes.
(b) Identify data sources, develop and implement reliable data collection methods, and develop strategies for enhancing data quality; adopt a continuous improvement approach to reviewing and redeveloping reports to ensure they remain relevant to changes in the Organization.
(c) Provide substantive and operational support to Sectors, including the preparation and processing of budget journals, recruitment/contract extension reviews, and financial analyses; analyze requests for the use of personnel and non-personnel resources against annual workplans and organizational results.
(d) Update and carry out administrative actions in ERP systems, including WePerform, ensuring that monitoring files and documentation are maintained in an organized, accurate, and up-to-date manner, and identifying opportunities for automated tracking.
(e) Assist Sectors in the preparation of annual workplans; prepare analysis, as required, on workplan implementation and budget utilization; identify issues and propose solutions in a service-oriented manner.
(f) Prepare monthly or quarterly monitoring reports for all sources of funds and ensure that relevant documentation is always up to date.
(g) Perform other related duties as required.
3. Reporting
The Financial Data Analysis Consultant will report to the Senior Project Manager, who will validate deliverables and confirm satisfactory completion prior to payment.
4. Profile (e.g., area of specialization/expertise, specific knowledge/skills/experience)

- First-level university degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline.
(b) Experience
At least six (6) years of professional work experience including in the area of finance, or budgeting.
Experience of working with an ERP system, e.g., Oracle Fusion, Board or PeopleSoft.
(c) Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Competencies
Expert user of Microsoft Office Excel, including for building data models.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.

5. Duration of contract and payment
(a) The Financial Data Analysis Consultant will provide its services on a full-time equivalent basis from October 1, 2025, until March 31, 2026, with a possibility of extension based on consultant's performance and the availability of funding.
(b) Applicants are requested to provide an indication of their remuneration expectations of a daily rate in either Swiss francs, Euros, British Pounds, or USD.
(c) It is specifically agreed that the rate to be paid for the Contractor's services is based on actual days of work rendered, as confirmed monthly by the supervisor. Any additional effort beyond what is indicated herein, as may be necessary to satisfactorily complete all the agreed tasks, need prior written approval by WIPO before being rendered.
6. Additional information
ICS contractors fall outside the coverage of employment contracts for WIPO Staff members and are not subject to the WIPO Staff Regulations and Rules. The ICS contractor has no entitlement to vacation or sick leave, except for WIPO official holidays, or to medical insurance or staff pension. Absences from work will be deducted from the contractor's payment on a pro-rated basis.

Job Purpose
As part of the Organizational Transformation Unit (OT unit), the IFRC NSD Competency Framework (NSD CF) data analysis Intern will play an important role to analyse the data generated from the NSD CF self-assessment, contribute to providing feedback and inform the shaping of NSD CF development programmes through analyzed data, and support and make necessary adjustments to the existing programmes.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Data support:
- Analysing the raw data generated from the NSD CF E-learning and Self-assessment course, visualizing the results, and generating valuable and meaningful insights in the form of dashboards, such as PowerBI, and reports accessible to IFRC secretariat senior management as well as to other National Societies utilising the self-assessment course.
- Serves as the liaison point between OT unit and IFRC Learning and development team to access data and necessary information to allow analysing data generated from the NSD CF E-learning and self-assessment course.
- Updating dashboards and reports as well as communicating insights to support presentations and improve decision making of the OT unit.
- Provide insight and use of AI across the process wherever possible.
- Share knowledge and act as a subject matter resource on data analysis and research on wider topics covered by the OT unit and use 30% of its time to other OT unit initiatives to enable cross learning and bring synergy with works across the unit.

- Contribute to coordinating working groups and stakeholders related to the NSD CF under the guidance of the Sr. Officer for Organisational Transformation.

We are seeking a scientist with expertise in biological image analysis who can combine technical excellence with vision and initiative. In this role, you will:
- Lead the image analysis pillar of the Hub, bringing independence and initiative.
- Design and implement state-of-the-art pipelines for biological imaging data.
- Curate, collect, and manage datasets, contributing to the creation of a university-wide repository.
- Guide and mentor researchers across DBMR labs in best practices and advanced image-analysis methods.
- Organize training sessions, workshops, and community events.
- Represent the Hub nationally and internationally by promoting our activities at conferences and building collaborations.
- Contribute to setting standards for FAIR and reproducible data science.
Profile requirements
Your Profile
- PhD or MSc in computer science, biomedical image analysis, or a related field.
- Expertise in image data science, including machine learning and deep learning.
- Strong programming skills (Python required; R or similar desirable).
- Experience in HPC/Linux environmentsand data-parallel processing.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and lead projects.
- Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with a collaborative mindset.
Desirable
- Experience with microscopy image analysis (high-content screening, EM, light-sheet, confocal, etc.).
- Familiarity with tools such as Fiji, CellProfiler, Napari.
- Experience in collaborative software development.
- Background in research or clinical data environments.

What your impact will be:
- Develop real-time machine learning solutions to deal with challenging real-world problems on big data
- Develop Dynamic Pricing algorithms based on reinforcement learning
- Collaborate in a cross-functional team, including machine learning scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and project managers
Qualifications
Your expertise:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Physics, or a Master's degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of machine learning.
- Excellent knowledge of Supervised methods (Classification, Regression) and Unsupervised methods (Clustering, Feature Selection, Dimensionality Reduction)
- Experience in Reinforcement Learning (Multi-Armed Bandit and Markov Decision Process)
- Good knowledge of Python and SQL, with knowledge of the most important Python libraries for Machine Learning and Data Analysis (scikit-learn, Pandas, matplotlib, Numpy, Scipy, MLflow)
- Experience with Deep Learning (Recurrent Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks, and Autoencoders)
- Experience with Keras (and TensorFlow) or PyTorch
Desirable:
- Able to find creative solutions to interesting problems
- Curious with a constant desire to learn and collaborate
- Previous experience with dynamic pricing algorithms
