**A Day in the Life**
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
+ Provides technical support to engineers to achieve improvements in cycle-time, yield, unit cost, quality, safety and compliance of production and operations processes and products.
+ Monitors instruments and equipment and collects operating data, including calibration, inspection, testing and repair activities, to assist in making on-line adjustments to instruments, equipment, or products.
+ Analyzes and resolves malfunctions and deviations of instruments and control systems to identify and resolve problems.
+ Conducts, analyses and prepares reports using metrics from salvage tracking, trending, reporting and root-cause analyses.
+ Maintains process designs to optimize process, equipment and facility use while conforming to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
**TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM:** Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.

**Cloud Engineering Manager**
for its global Pharma Division Headquarter based in Allschwil- Basel.
**Primary Job Function:**
The central Advanced Analytics team at the Abbott Established Pharma Division's (EPD) headquarters in Basel helps define and lead the transformation towards becoming a global, data-driven company with the help of data and modern data technologies (e.g., Machine Learning, Deep Learning). + Strong architectural skills to enable scalable cloud application and infrastructure.
+ Experience in working with and leading external teams to help implement solutions, ensuring quality deployments.
+ Proven ability to work across structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data, extracting information and identifying linkages across disparate data sets.
+ Strong experience in multiple database technologies such as: Distributed Processing (Spark, etc.) Traditional RDBMS (MS SQL Server, etc.) MPP ( **AWS Redshift, etc.) required** , etc.
+ Strong understanding of Information Security principles to ensure compliant handling and management of data.
+ High proficiency in programming languages e.g. Python.
+ Extensive experience in Cloud platform technologies (preferably AWS) and all its services and ecosystem.
+ Strong experience in traditional data warehousing / ETL tools.
+ Proficiency in architecting, building and maintaining cost-efficient and scalable cloud environments.
+ Ability to understand business and create cloud-bases solutions to fill those objectives.
+ Result-driven, be an analytical and creative thinker.
+ Ability to work with cross-functional teams and bring business and data science closer together - consultancy experience a plus.
+ Fluency in English a must, additional languages a plus.
