Duties and Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of GITSU, the intern will:
• Design and develop Power Apps to automate IT services tasks and workflows.
• Implement software tools to automate monitoring activities and clean-up processes.
• Draft and maintain system and desktop configuration documentation and reports.
• Support the development of apps for IT asset recording using mobile cameras and barcode scanning.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for automation and provide recommendations for process improvement.
• Perform other related duties as required in support of IT service operations.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for the United Nations Secretariat internship programme applicants must, at the time of their submission, be enrolled in the final academic year of a first-level university degree programme (i.e. Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree); be enrolled in a graduate school programme (i.e. Master's degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or have completed an aforementioned academic degree, preferably in the area of:
• Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven knowledge of Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, ASP.Net, MVC with C# programming language and SQL server experience with related development environments.
• Skills in programming and scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PowerShell) are an asset.
• Experience in database management, process automation, and application development. AND, if selected, must commence the internship on the date indicated in the Acceptance letter. APPLICANTS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO HAVE PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAMME. None

The role is to join a global insurance business who are looking to add a temporary resource to support the IT Infrastructure / Support and Operations centre through the general day to day running of the IT function.

Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support & Maintenance:
Respond to technical requests, install, configure, diagnose, repair, patch, and upgrade IT hardware and systems to ensure optimal performance. - Issue Management:

- Strong experience with Microsoft operating systems and applications, including Windows 10/11, Server 2012/2016/2019, Office 365, and Intune.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and PowerShell.
- Experience with virtualization platforms like Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop and VMware vSphere.
- Hands-on experience with collaboration tools such as Office 365, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and OneDrive.
- Strong customer service skills, excellent communication (both verbal and written), and the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MCSA, MCSE) are advantageous.
